For the uninitiated, CD Projekt Red has released a massive new patch for Cyberpunk 2077 that has just gone live. Fortunately, it’s clear that the studio has been hard at work on making sure that the gameplay experience feels better than ever before, as the update covers almost every aspect of the vast in-game world of Night City. The list of said fixes includes tweaks to AI behavior to re-balancing skills, adding additional elements to the world, and overhauling the driving mechanics....

While CD Projekt RED continues to work on updates and fixes to the overall Cyberpunk 2077 experience, the biggest red flag for fans came shortly after launch when Sony made the decision to remove the game entirely from its digital storefront. Sony boss Jim Ryan recently clarified Cyberpunk’s removal by attempting to protect its fans by not wanting to sell a broken product to consumers, though communication as to when the game would return was very hard to come by from either side....

One way CDPR could deliver fully fleshed content packs is by bundling together Cyberpunk 2077 content that was cut for the sake of time and branding it as DLC. However, CDPR has since denied that hefty amounts of content were cut from Cyberpunk 2077 to coincide with the December 10th launch date. Though this may make sense because the original poster of these allegations claimed to be a CDPR employee with no evidence to back their claims, it’s clear that many of the plans seen in previously released demos and spotlights had been scrapped, such as cyberware and car customization....

Microsoft would somewhat follow suit, instead opting to display a warning on the game’s store page. In time, it’s likely Cyberpunk 2077 will be brought back to digital stores without the necessary precautions, but Sony’s removal of the game compounded with the refunds breaks from the official refund policy on PS4 and PS5 content. It should be noted that some users are upset about refunding Cyberpunk 2077 but not keeping the game, which is the service-industry equivalent of demanding a refund after eating an entire dinner meal, but that they’re lucky to even get the refund provided the official policy....

It goes without saying that Cyberpunk has far more moving parts than the average game, given not just its open-world design but the ambitious amount of detail CD Projekt Red has put into its world, narrative structure, and customization options. The game was bound to come out with a lot of bugs, and while the bug problem hasn’t stopped Cyberpunk 2077 from receiving loads of positive reviews, it’s become a noticeable part of the conversation in the past week....

The PlayStation 4 exclusive Days Gone launched to mixed reviews from critics, with most of them citing its unoptimized gameplay, performance issues, and bugs as the prominent reasons for its score.
