Early details regarding The Ascent’s story reveal it to revolve around the collapse of the mega-corporation The Ascent Group. The player will work to unravel the cause of The Ascent Group’s ruin, while also keeping hostile gangs and corporations in check. The cyberpunk setting gives it an edgy futuristic sheen so the player knows that anything can and will happen.

The Ascent will be Neon Giant’s first game as a studio. The Swedish studio was formed in 2018 with some of the country’s biggest talent. They draw experience from games including Bulletstorm, Wolfenstein, Gears of War, and Doom. An investment by Goodbye Kansas Game Invest, now named Amplifier Game Investment, helped The Ascent get off the ground and making such an impressive game quickly.
