This much was confirmed in an exchange on Twitter between a Cyberpunk 2077 fan and CD Projekt Red’s Community Manager Marcin Momot, with the former remarking on the damage numbers appearing above enemies’ heads when attacking them and wondering if they can be removed. According to Momot, the studio is “planning on allowing players to turn off/on a lot of the HUD elements,” with the damage numbers presumably able to be deactivated.

Although Momot didn’t offer any further specifics as to what else can be switched off and on in Cyberpunk 2077’s HUD, the fact that CD Projekt Red is set to let players better personalize their in-game experience with this fature should come as good news to those following the game’s development. After all, the forthcoming title already has a multitudinous amount of unique and complex RPG mechanics, so being able to customize the HUD for a clearer view should be seen by many as icing on the cake.

All things considered, it will be interesting to see if such small, but important features as the ability to alter the colors of Cyberpunk 2077’s HUD comes into play at launch, or if the features will become even more expanded to include options like the ability to tweak the HUD’s fonts and overall layout. Of course, most won’t bat an eye if CD Projekt Red doesn’t include these types of HUD features in the game, but these choices would definitely help enhance player immersion.

Cyberpunk 2077 currently lacks an official release date, but is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
