Still, it’s very easy to complete the game and miss this car entirely. Worse, those who have completed Cyberpunk 2077, when they try to go back, will find that this is a missable item. Even veterans of the campaign playing again can make choices that make the vehicle impossible to recover. For those wanting to make sure a similar fate doesn’t happen to them, this is a comprehensive breakdown of how to make sure V gets those keys.

Updated on September 21st, 2021 by Hodey Johns: The journey to collect Johnny’s Porche is still the same, but with a new wave of players picking up the game, it felt like a good time to update this list. To increase the readability for those who are canning the article, bullet points have been added so that each step can be as clear and concise as possible. Additionally, a section was added giving some information on what the car is and why somebody might consider grabbing it. Cyberpunk 2077 has lots of lore scattered throughout the various maps and buildings, but none of them are quite as intriguing as Johnny Silverhand’s car, which is a relic from the past that players can use in the future.

What Makes The Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo Special?

Right there in the very name of the car, there is something this car has that no other car can claim. In this future, every car company from the gamer’s current generation has gone defunct. The Chevillon and Villefort companies are fictional replacements for the expired automobile giants. The Porsche is a real company and, though the company is no longer around, their legacy lives on in this car.

Next, while it might not be one of the fastest cars in the game, the look is unlike any other. The frame and model won’t be encountered in any other one of the game’s cars. The logos, coloring, and handling all further distance this car from having any comparable vehicle.

Progress In The Main Story

Play the game until reaching the Nocturne OP55N1 main mission.

Players will have to complete quite a few main jobs before the mission “Nocturne OP55N1” shows up. It’s a fair chunk into the story, so don’t go thinking that Johnny Silverhand’s sweet ride is going to be accessible when first arriving at Night City.

Gamers will have plenty of opportunities to get other fast cars or even one of the fastest motorcycles in the game before this, but nothing else will scratch the itch that this car can, so it’s worth the wait.

Get The Side Job “Chippin’ In”

During the Nocturne OP55N1 mission, pick up the side job called “Chippin’ In. "

Calling “Chippin’ In” a side job is by technical designation only. It comes up as a direct tie-in to the main story and unless gamers are constantly checking the menu, it’s easy to have this gig come and go without ever seeing it was there.

Unless players are willing to settle for one of the stylistic Quadra cars, the best way to know if this mission has quietly popped up is that V will start hunting down Adam Smasher with Rogue. If this doesn’t sound familiar, keep playing, it can’t be missed.

Interrogate Grayson

Progress during the Chippin’ In Mission until Grayson is injured and leaning against some crates. Speak to Grayson.

When tracking down Adam Smasher, a character named Grayson will get injured and prop himself up against a couple of Militech crates. At this point, players will have the opportunity to interrogate him.

Despite the game having some very tough choices, V can essentially talk with Grayson about anything here. It isn’t until the very end of the conversation that players can mess up, but it’s a moment that players will inherently understand is consequential.

Do Not Kill Grayson

During the dialogue, choose [Put weapon away] Got lucky today.

Killing low-threat mobsters can be an easy way to grind out decent amounts of street cred. As such, at Johnny and Rogue’s encouragement, players might feel compelled to kill Grayson in spite of his pleas.

However, that will officially lock out the car. This guy is the only one alive who knows of the Porsche’s location and that information dies with him. Resist peer pressure and don’t shoot him. Rogue will finish the job, but not before V gets a card from Grayson.

Let Rogue Leave

Do not follow Rogue.

Beginner’s traps are nothing new in video games and every player makes serious mistakes during their first playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077. One of the more serious traps happens right here as players will be inclined to protect Rogue.

Rogue pulls out a gun and runs into danger, but Johnny’s advice is correct; leave her be. Kind-hearted players might be inclined to provide support, but if they do, they’ll find she was just fine after all and the car is locked out forever.

Talk With Johnny

After Rogue leaves, speak to Johnny Silverhand.

While some essential perks can help with coaxing certain conversations in a helpful direction, Johnny doesn’t need convincing, but he does need V to talk with him. He’ll be sitting on the same Militech boxes Grayson was bleeding against just a few moments earlier.

It turns out that even though Johnny was alright to finish off Grayson earlier, he’s had a change of heart and wants what was once his. He’ll give V instructions on how to find the correct shipping container. Just don’t forget to speak to him, sometimes Johnny appears just for fun, but don’t pass by him this time.

Climb The Ladder

Follow the map marker. Go to the top of the ladder.

The ladder to the control panel is not far away. After speaking with Johnny, it will be marked on the map about 25 meters away on top of an elevated construction railing.

Players shouldn’t have a hard time finding it if they know to look, but it does require paying attention. Many mistakenly believe that Johnny might be referring to a control panel in another area and not this one close by.

Turn On The Control Panel

Press the button on the electronic panel.

After climbing the ladder, players might be expecting a breach protocol minigame to try and get the panel, but, thankfully, somebody left the controls unlocked, so just go right up and press the button to turn it on.

Watch in front of V as this will lower a shipping container into the area directly ahead. Climb down there, but take the ladder, the fall is more than enough to kill V. The container isn’t on a timer, so take it easy.

Open The Container

Look for Johnny Silverhand. Open the container next to him.

This is why letting Grayson live is so important. Players can do every other part of this guide perfectly and even be able to decipher the location of the right container, but if they don’t have the key, they can’t open this when they need to.

If players are disoriented after the journey down into the shipping yard, just look for Johnny, who is anxiously waiting outside of the correct container. He’s decided that he knows what the surprise is and he can’t wait to take another spin.

Remove The Canvas And Hop In

Interact with the canvas to remove it. Hop in the newly revealed car.

All that’s left is to unveil the wheels. With the click of a button, V will reveal Johnny’s Porsche. Don’t forget to hop in, V doesn’t technically own the car until going inside and it’d be a shame to get this far and not come away with the prize.

This sleek new ride might not change the minds of any desirable characters that can’t be romanced no matter what, but it will make players feel pretty tops. There really isn’t any other car like it in the game and if NPCs could have their heads turn, this would surely do it.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on September 17th, 2020, and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Google Stadia, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC.
