On YouTube, PC gamer and Cyberpunk 2077 fan Ani HVX has uploaded two videos showing what Cyberpunk 2077 could look like if it was available with an 8K resolution. The YouTuber used a machine learning AI to render the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay reveal and the deep dive gameplay video from last year. The longer gameplay reveal took 71 hours to render while the deep dive took 21 hours to render.

It’s unclear if developer CD Projekt RED is planning to offer Cyberpunk 2077 8K when the game is released. The developer has said that it hasn’t fully shown fans Cyberpunk 2077’s graphics and has suggested that the game could look much better than fans are expecting. While this could mean that 8K will be officially supported by the game, it could also mean that Cyberpunk 2077 looks so good that most players won’t need to use that setting.

8K would allow Cyberpunk 2077 to look better than it does in trailers that have been shown to fans, but only a few people may be able to enjoy such high-quality graphics, though the PS5 and the Xbox Series X will support 8K gaming. Cyberpunk 2077 has also been confirmed for Xbox Series X, though no announcement about a PS5 release has been made. However, most console players will get the game for PS4 and Xbox One and these consoles do not support 8K.

Many PC gamers may also be unable to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 in 8K. There are many high-quality gaming monitors available offering various features to make games look better, but those that offer 8K are all hugely expensive. Prices for 8K monitors begin at more than $3,000 and many won’t want to pay that sort of price just so that Cyberpunk 2077 will look a bit better.

Most fans seem to be happy with how Cyberpunk 2077 looks without the 8K resolution though and many have been asking CD Projekt RED to reveal more gameplay. The game will be at the Summer of Gaming event which will have several game announcements and the developer may give fans a new look at the game then.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on September 17, 2020, for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
