The latest piece of evidence that CD Projekt RED is about to make a big Cyberpunk 2077 announcement at E3 2018 comes from the official website of the event. Details about CD Projekt RED’s plans are available under the website section that allows people to plan what they are going to do at E3. There are three listings on the developer’s page: a role-playing game on PC, a role-playing game on PS4, and a role-playing game on Xbox One. It looks likely that the role-playing game this is referring to is Cyberpunk 2077.
The website listing is just the latest hint that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have a major presence at the industry event. Earlier this year, there were rumors that CD Projekt RED would reveal a new trailer for the game at E3 2018. Moreover, the report suggested that the developer would also show off a demo of playable footage, though this would only be displayed to journalists in a closed-door event, so barring any leaks, fans would have to wait to see it themselves.
In addition to this, a financial report released by CD Projekt RED itself confirmed that it would begin pre-release marketing for Cyberpunk 2077 this year, using the funds it would usually pay to stakeholders to pay for the marketing campaign instead. Showing off a game at E3 2018 doesn’t come cheap and so it stands to reason that a hefty bulk of that marketing budget will be spent on displaying the game at the event.
If Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have a significant presence at E3 2018, then fans will also hope that CD Projekt RED clears up some longstanding rumors and speculation about the game. For example, there is speculation that the game may also release on next-generation consoles (the consoles after the PS4 and Xbox One) and many will be looking for details on its online features which CD Projekt RED has teased in the past. The E3 2018 listing doesn’t confirm what details the developer will reveal, but fingers crossed it will have plenty to share.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development. A release date and platforms have not yet been announced.
