Wyatt Trull, the creator behind popular content on the community-driven DM’s Guild platform, has created a conversion kit that will help players bring the world of Azeroth alive in their own Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. Called Blood and Thunder!, Trull has been releasing new parts of the campaign periodically on his Patreon page, while also sharing some of it to his Instagram account.

There are several aspects to Blood and Thunder! that make it interesting, though the current highlight seems to be the race conversions, which Trull has been releasing just about every week since December. While not all of the races have been incorporated into the conversion thus far, some of the fan-favorites have made their way into the game, like Tauren and Goblin races along with several others. Notably, there are also races like Half-Elf and Half-Orc, which are featured in Dungeons and Dragons but aren’t playable in World of Warcraft.

Even some of the unconventional races have made an appearance in the conversion kit so far. Specifically, Trull released the Murloc race on March 24, playing into the gibberish-gurgling language that the Murlocs speak in the Warcraft universe. Voting for which race will be released next is currently underway, with Troll, Undead, and Worgen featured as options. The vote is only open to Trull’s Patrons.

Blood and Thunder! does have top-tier production value for an independent project. The pages boast impressive artwork, reminiscent of both World of Warcraft and Dungeons and Dragons proper. Trull is no stranger to creating official-quality Dungeons and Dragons content, so that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, though the World of Warcraft conversion especially looks like it could be found on store shelves in shops around the world.

How far Trull is willing to take the conversion remains to be seen, but it’s certainly off to a great start. Dungeons and Dragons features endless possibilities for characters and campaigns, with a number of Dungeons and Dragons conversions out in the wild crossing it over with everything from The Elder Scrolls to Destiny. World of Warcraft is a great option, and it’ll be interesting to see what the community cooks up next.

Dungeons and Dragons is available now.
