However, for those looking for another challenge, the longer than expected wait for Ms Chalice and The Delicious Last Course appears to have been worth it. Players and critics continue to praise the new Cuphead content and boss battles, which features plenty of depth and challenge even if it’s a little on the shorter side. Thankfully, the DLC expansion features a number of new mechanics and puzzles to figure out alongside the expected boss battles.

One in particular has continued to stump players, all tied to a seemingly generic achievement called Paladin. While the majority of them are self-explanatory, this one has left Cuphead fans scratching their head, due to a description of “Obtain great power” offering no help in figuring out how to unlock it. Here is everything players need to know.

The Broken Relic

In order to get started unlocking the Paladin achievement, players will need to get their hands on Porkrind’s mysterious item called the Broken Relic. Thankfully, this only costs 1 coin, so picking it up won’t prevent players from buying other upgrades.

With the item in hand, players will need to ensure it’s equipped and then tackle a tricky puzzle inside of the Graveyard. Part of the solution is visiting the three characters next to the shop, who have just finished a climbing competition. The order will be different for everyone, but they’ll give players a directional hint in solving the nearby graveyard puzzle. The gravestones are set in a 3x3 grid, so players will need to touch the gravestones in the order of the hints provided by the first, second, and third place climbers. First place’s hint should be the first gravestone touched, second place, then third place.

If entered correctly, the middle grave will glow and the game will ask players if they want to take a nap. Select Yes to be taken to a secret boss battle against an angel and devil duo, one of which may look familiar to Cuphead veterans who finished the base game.

The Cursed Relic

Once the pair have been beaten, players will unlock a new Cuphead trophy/achievement called A Horrible Night to Have a Curse, a nice addition but ultimately not what players are after. Players will also notice that the Broken Relic has been repaired and now goes by the name The Cursed Relic.

At this point, the Cursed Relic should be equipped as one of the active charms, which unfortunately has a negative impact by reducing HP by 1 and turning each shot or dash into a random weapon.

Paladin Trophy

With the Cursed Relic now active, players will need to go through and defeat every single DLC boss. While the negative effects may sound daunting, there is one bonus. Once players start shooting, if they hold down the attack button, the randomly assigned weapon will remain. If players find a weapon that works well for a particular Delicious Last Course boss, the advice is to keep the attack button held down so as not to have to switched to something else. Once the DLC has been finished, the Paladin will pop along with serious bragging rights.
